The search function at MFK kicks my butt...

I read last night that black aros are not susceptible to DE like silver aros. Can anyone clarify this? It would certainly influence my choice of fish if true. Thanks.

Never saw one in more than 20 years of aro keeping.

It is very rare. There is a large black posted on youtube with DE. Also it has been posted that a black aro at the shedd aquarium in Chicago has DE. Have yet to confirm the later.

I've seen photos/videos of at least 3 different black aros with one drop eye. That's not bad compared to silver aros drop eye rate.

^ about the only ever case of it I've seen. Put it this way, with silvers it is almost guaranteed, blacks it's one-in-a-million...

I think there are probably as many large blacks with DE as large silvers without DE. Seems to be at extreme opposites with these two.
