Hi there just got a black ghost because my son wanted one so bad...I must say it is a cool fish...anyways I put him in an angel community tank 180 gallon with tons of hiding spaces that are good for him... I do want to him to eat some of the smaller fish so I think it might work out...:)

He has been in 2 days now I have seen him eat tetra bits and brine shrimp and he is starting to explore the tank...

question is does he hunt at night and kill the sleeping fish or does he just get active at dusk and dawn and sleep like all teh other fish...

Also he/she is 4 inches, I also read that these are all wild caught which I think is kind of bad, but I only read that after.

anyways any ifon will help!

thanks

Knifefish are usually nocturnal and become active right around dusk. A way to try and keep him from nibbling on your fish is to feed him right before you go to bed, that way you can watch him eat and should keep him full for the night.

These guys are noctural so they do hunt at night. They are predatory, but only with smaller fish that can fit in their mouths. If you have any tetras, they may start to disappear. The Angels should be safe with their awkward size and the small size of the BGK

i agree w/ everything so far. my BGK is probably my fav fish (of my current fish, it is the one i've had the longest)

yes they are nocturnal and only feed at night, you could try training him/her to eat at your hand. there are bgk that have been bred in farms, i think it was in australia.
