I have various species in a large community tank. One of my fish is a ClownKnife. Will his markings look any better from eating prawns (carotenoids?) and other color-enhancing foods? Or is that just for fish with warm color spectrum pigmentation?
i would say all but then again im not the best at this stuff.....different fish have different ways of "taking in the food" so i would think in a matter of time that all fish you would have would more vibrant but as i said before im not the best.......
ie If I were to feed one CK (or other ~monochromatic fish) prawns only and fed another CK only the least color-enhancing food available, what dif would there be in their color and/or patterning?
I don't think so. I purchased a color enhancing pellet made in Asia, specifically for arowana. The LFS owner is a Asian gentleman who sells the product exclusively in my market. The pellet is red and It's supposed to bring out the red hues in arowana. A good example is the flamingo bird. It's staple diet is a red/pink shrimp that creates the pink in it's feathers. I don't think one can enhance the coloration in fish with grey coloring. The best way to bring out color in any fish is with a balanced diet and proper water conditions.
