Title says it all I'm just wondering if Convict mate for life. I was planning on doing a 15G long with two pairs, and was curious if they might switch mates?

No, they don't mate for life and 15g long isn't big enough for 2 pairs.

Wasn't for life they're only 1-1.5 inches at the moment but thanks for the info.

It's not impossible they would stay bonded until one of them inevitably dies... Pair bonds are really like a marriage... Some last and some don't.

I agree, I don't think I would keep even one pair in a 15 gallon for life, I've seen some big males. I'd put them in a 40 breeder or something.

They can mate for life and two pairs in a 15g is not a good idea...probably will even result in deaths, I would do a single pair and even that is pushing it in a 15g...unless the pair is under 3" then it should be fine.

Thanks for all the replies again all until they start pairing off and growing :)
