do Crabs need land?

I would like to keep some red crabs and fiddlers in my 90 gal tank as scavengers but I read how they need a place to climb on to. do they really need the land?

both crabs will need a small land area. They like access to land every once in a while. and im pretty sure they breathe air.

most crabs will spend 80% of there time out of water, so yes land is essential

put a small gold fish bowl in the tank with an air pocket and something to climb on, ie rocks.they will go in there to breath/groom.

i like the idea but that wont really work as the air will go stale. what you will need for this to work is a bowl like you said but it will need a hole in the top for air to escape, and and air stone feeding air into it with a rock or somthing for the crab to clmb up on.

i read a thread months ago with pics on how some 1 was going to experiment with this idea. Atlantice in your own home / tank....
