Do different loaches shoal?

Hi will red tailed botia loaches shoal whith clown loaches an act like a proper shoal, fighting and finding an alpha loach

In my experience, usually not. Sometime if you have for example, a shoal of clowns and one of something else, like a yoyo... the yoyo might join the shoal. Even my merged groups of clowns (3 separate groups, now all in 1 tank) don't shoal together most of the time. The two larger groups have ALMOST become one, but the smaller size loaches still stick to themselves usually.
