I have heard that FH koks are mainly fat. So If you feed your FH fatty foods will that increse it's kok size? I am feeding my FH nls right know. Omega One has a little more than twice the fat content of nls so if I feed Omega One to my FH will it get a bigger kok? Is there any other fatty thing you can feed to your fish? Thanks...

fatty foods will increase your fishes kok faster, but that doesn't mean it makes it bigger than it's capable of already growing. There are health issues with feeding too fatty of foods to fish. Kok is usually hereditary, so eventually over time with a proper food they should be fine. Look at the parents if you want to determine kok.

is over loading fat good for health? I don't think so..

When buying fish from thailand, I always get scronny thin fishes.. But their heads are still big because of their genetic..

If you feed a small kok genetic fh lots of fat, i doesnt mean he will get monster kok.. so my opinion, it doesnt make kok bigger in proportion to the whole fish, but should make the whole fish fatter and out of shape..

Not like if you feed him fat foods then then all the fat will go to the head only. Not like the fish's system knows what human want and do just that for you..

Just feed your Flowerhorn Hikari or New Life Spectrum. Give him clean water and some mirror time and it will grow to its potential. After all kok size potential is purely genetic but giving it a healthy environment with help it reach its max potential.

Nuchal humps (koks) of fish are not made up of fat, nor will large amounts of fat fed to your fish increase its kok size. This is totally bogus info, like most of the other FH info on the interweb. As others have stated kok size is mostly determined by genetics, and gonad development.

For further understanding behind what causes the "hump" in a fishes head, please read the following past discussion on this subject.
