Do filters break in shipping? 180g filter setup?

I'm planning to order two Rena XP3's at bigalsonline.com

I'm worried though that the filters will get damaged in shipping.

Has anyone ordered filters online?

Also, I was wondering if you guys could evaluate my filter setup on my 180g.

Right now I'm only running two AC110's. All my fish are babies, so it works for now, but I'll have some beefy fish in about six to twelve months (oscars, RTGG, GT's, EBJD)

So I know I need a hell of a lot more. I don't want to go with a sump, so I'm buying two rena XP3's right now... in the very near future I'll also buy two more AC110's, how does that sound?


Down the road (in a few months) I plan on buying two Eheim 2028's as well.

Any help, comments, experience is appreciated.

I've ordered all of my filters (13) online and I've only had one break in shipping...so I would say that the odds are that you will get your stuff in one piece.

I would think you would be more than ok with all of that filtration. You're talking 350 gph for each XP3 and another 200 gph with the Eheim 2028's. With those 4 filters alone you have a turnover of just over 6 times an hour.

You figure with the bio load of monster fish, there are always going to be frequent water changes no matter what you do.

My goal is to keep water changes down to 1: 75% change per week, time will tell if that's possible or not lol
