DO FLOWERHORS ACTUALLY EAT?????????????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just purchased a 4 inch flowerhorn, and it won't eat. I saw it eating at the fish shop, but in my aqarium? All it does is make puking motions with its lips and jaws when I drop in pellets. At the store, it was begging like a dog for food, in my larger tank at home... nothing, it acts scared.

What gives? he's alone in a big enough tank like at the store (where he was fat), but at home for the last three days he's reclusive and hidding in the corner and hes skinny!

I thought flowerhorns were greedy eaters, what am I doing wrong????

Just give it time to adjust to it's new surroundings and possibly new food.

ya. the little guy is probably stressed..

no flowerhorns, to many peoples surprise, actually absorb their nutrients from the water column.
