Hello

Since all my other Cichlids in the tank with the Rams have grown big enough to be transferred to my 60G I was thinking of "attempting" to breed my Rams. My main question was do I have a pair?! I've done my research and I heard the biggest factor in determining sex in Rams is females have black stripes on their pelvic fins and males don't. I'm pretty sure I have a pair but of course I don't believe myself in this :screwy:
Can anyone help confirm this for me?

EDIT: If it helps they do seem to have mating behavior, the suspected male does peck at the female and they're always in a certain corner together.

Thanks,
Justin

GBRs are relatively easy to sex. Females have pink belly and blue spangles in/around the black lateral spot. Yours are being pushed around by the Africans. Not a good idea to keep them together....

Ok, I'm gonna move the Africans out and in a few days I'll take another video and could you help sex them for me?

I"ll try my best not the best with a camera. I'll get some pics and a video.

Ok so I moved the Africans over to my 60G and those Rams instantly got their color, I've never seen them so amazing. I was still moving stuff around and terrifying them and once those Africans were gone nothing else mattered to them! It does look like I have two females though... I will post some pics and videos for you. Also is better to have more then one female? and once they pair off take the other female out?

EDIT: I left one Yellow Lab with the Rams, he has one eye and won't grow over a inch.. I've had him for almost a year and he's still one inch, he minds himself and the Rams don't mind him.

Thanks,
Justin

Alright I'll do some more research on trios, I'll get a video up in like thirty minutes!

Here are some pictures and a video, I truly think I have two females. Sorry for the terrible pictures!DSCN1714.JPGDSCN1709.JPGUntitled.jpgDSCN1712.JPGDSCN1711.JPGDSCN1713.JPGDSCN1699.JPGDSCN1710.JPG
