This is supposed to be easy....I guess it's always harder when it comes to one's own fish :D

Two largest in a group of 6. Both are about 3-4".

Is this a male?

Confident about the male...

But the female seems to have spots not spangles which are typically the give away. For those sure its a female, how? (not being insulting, I'm really just curious to know)
 
I agree with Makk and NBK... the top fish is male for sure... the second fish is probably female but the pic provided leaves some room for error...

Many thanks for the input. The blue blotch/beard on the presumed female is actually more pronounced than what the picture shows. Tried again this morning but she went into hiding as soon as she saw me with the camera :(
 
Pete, are these BGs or just regular Jacks?
