Im beginning to think I am only meant to be a "catch and release" person with fish.
I have 4 goldfish in a 55 gallon tank. At first I thought it was ick but now I'm not sure. Have searched internet and can't really find anything definate. Was wondering.....all the goldfish look as if they are growing "fuzz". It's even beginning to cover their eyes!!
Is this possibly cotton wool disease or something else? I tried treating for ick but that didn't help. Had 5 goldfish until today.
Have only had them for 4 years this summer. Kids are bawling because the fish are dying.
I need help!! Am just glad that I didn't pay more than .25 each for them.
They all sit on the bottom of the tank. Fins clamped against sides. Not breathing real hard just "hanging out" on the bottom of tank. Their fins are looking kind of frayed and they are changing color...almost like they have broken blood vessels in their bodies and fins. My white goldfish is now pink with red stripes and the orange fish look like their blood vessels right at the bottom of the fins have broken vessels going towards tips of fins.
Any help would be great.
