sacramento
i put in 3 types of food all the same time for different fishes in the tank
-floating NSL pellets with red arowana picture for the jardini
-omega one flakes for bala sharks
-sinking pellets for carnivore by hikari for SAL and BGK
i have been watching them for awhile while feasting the meal..now the jardini dont want the NSL no more its been a week instead it will eat the flakes and catching the hikari pellet as it sinking, even eat the one thats already sunk.
is it that NSL tastes bad for them or what?
im thinking to get the jardini floating hikari now but NSL is cheaper LOL

Hikari sinking carnivore pellets are made for carnivores hence it's a jardini it's a carnivore...the sinking pellets are rich in protein which all pred fishes should have a rich or high protein diet. I'm sure he's eating the sinking carnivore pellets because it's probably softer easier to eat as nls pellets will be harder. Give it time. Both good rated food.

Off subject but I'd reccomend changing over to cut fillets, frozen krill not dried as frozen is softer and better for your fish than dried, shrimp, silver sides...etc. I'd reccomend feeding pellets as supplement or only as a lazy option occasionally. They grow faster and healthier on a non pellet diet. Yes it' will cost you maybe 5-15bucks a month but we all can afford that. We spend petty cash on sodas and junkfood and fastfood which we can instead spend on food for our lil finned friends. I go fishing and I fillet some of my catches for my finned pets. But that's me do what works for you...and for the record I'm not saying you can't feed fishes pellets I'm just saying I try not to make it a majority of their diet.

Give it time hope the aro picks up on the pellets soon which I'm sure it will.

im sorry i failed to mentioned he was eating the said NSL from day 1 i got it..but you prolly right about the texture..NSL does is harder but it got no problem prior to taste other foods.
i guess im one of the lazy and cheap bastard..their main diet is pellets and those type of foods you mentioned i make it as their "treat" for once or twice a week
my aro is about 6 inches now
