Do I need a different fitting on a stock tank to keep it from leaking?

I just bought a Rubbermaid 100 gallon stock tank. I noticed that the plug cannot connect to a water hose. If I find a plug that can, will it possibly leak?

Is the plug fitting that came with the Rubbermaid enough to keep water from leaking? New to using these. This is for my fry tank. Thanks.

should be a standard NPT. fitting take the one in it to HD and match it up with what you need and use Teflon tape to seal it works great on mine

Mine are 1" and 3/4" (pipe thread). The simple solution is to use a plastic spiggot (brass is fine too). The spiggots are available in 3/4" pipe thread and of course they have the garden hose thread on the other end.
