i have a 75gal with a heavy bioload and am currently running a marineland penguin 350, i dont believe that its doing a very good job so i was planning on getting an additional filter. any recomondations. ive been looking at ho.t. magnum filters or an aquaclear quick filter that would attach to a powerhead.

any suggestions on what to get. i want to spent less than 100 bucks

What are the quantities and sizes of the fish in the tank. I'd go for a canister filter for the tank, with tons of biomedia.

ofcourse you do.u would like need another 350 on the other half of the aquarium.since you said you have a heavy bioload.

also i have the ac quickfilter/400.it gets clogged fast cuz you should see all the muck it sucks up.preety good stuff just for a polisher/quick filter

if i were u i would buy an ac 70 or 110.ac are the best

I totally agree with Beex. On my 75g I run a AC110 and a XP2.
On my 90g I have a penguin 350, AC110 and XP3. :headbang2

I agree with Fry, for under $100 the eheims he gave links for are very good filters. I have a pro 2 and it is amazing, much better than my Fluval 404s.

The filtration of canisters is better for many reasons, much more in the way of bio filtration than HOB filters. I assume that you mean a 10" clown knife, although a 10' one would be much more impressive...
