Do I plumb my 2 x cannisters or go the usual?

I am about to order a 6 x 2 x 2.5 tank for a Geo colony and I am undecided on whether to plumb the 2 x filters (a Eheim 2080 & a Eheim 2260) thru the base of the tank (5 x holes/bulkhead) or just go the usual way (hoses over the rear wall etc).

Any suggestions re the pros and cons of either method.

I wouldn't recommend plumbing them. I would just go the normal route. If you want to drill and plumb the tank, build a sump. Very effective and easy to maintain.

I would hook them up normal, much less can go wrong.
