Right now i have a 120 gallon tank with
3 5 inch discus
2 8 inch uaru
3 angles
3 red head geos
4 juvi jurupi geo
My filtration is currently
2 large sponges running off of air
ehiem 2224
eheim 2229 wet/dry

I some ways i feel that if i was to add just two more sponges i would not need the two canisters that i have. right now my water changes are just about every day and i syphon out half and vacum the floor of the tank as much as possible. The wet dry that i have is always making noise and i do not want to take the time to find out which gasket it is or what ever else it is. Do you think i can pull them out with no ill effect.

If you stop using one keep an eye on ammoina and nitrite, you will probably get a slight rise in them while new bacteria grow, as long as it doesn't climb too high and goes back to zero you have enough bio filtration.
