Do Indo Dats have really big mouths?

Hey,

I am considering picking up an Indo Dat for my 240gallon tank. I am just wondering how big there mouth really is since I have two small blood parrot cichlids. The 3 large silver aros don't bother the cichlids much since they swim up top. I am afraid of the dat eating them.

Any advice would be great.

Depend on the size of your dats and its gonna-be tank mates....I've lost 6 of my 10 cm tarpoon and 12 cm barb, ended up in 35 cm Indo datz mouth

Yes, Indo datz have big mouth, watch him/her when having dinner....

I would be alot more worried about the silver arrow. They grow alot quicker and will outgrow that tank before you know it. And maybe not have very many fish left.

Thank for the replies I will look around some more. Arowanas are pretty big, 16", 18", and a 22" silver arowana. But they have been in the tank with a 3" cichlid with no problem so far and it has been about 2 months now.

they have big mouths.. Im a total Dat newb having just gotten my first two tonight around 2.5 inches well put into a smaller q tank I look over about 5min later and see somthing hanging out of ones mouth it was an otto I had in there luckily he couldnt quite get it down his throat and the otto got out
