Okay, I've gotten a little to much time on my hands and now I want to tackle my own "do it yourself, sump system"
Can anybody help me start this off right?
I have a 150 gallon tank and I use a Fluvall 405 cannister but I just want more... go figure
Can somebody get me started on the right foot..
How much I'm gonna spend, time it'll take, is it even worth it??

$80-125

TARGET or OFFICE DEPOT:
30-55g plastic storage container
PLastic 3-drawer system

Chinatwon:
Purchase enough sponges to fill the two bottom cabinets of the drawer

LFS:
Filter floss for the top drawer
$80 pump for the return

My version includes a bare glass tank, filter sock, and ceramic media. That's all there is to it really. You don't actually have to build anything, just plumb everything up.

Okay... another noob question (i've not done much with do it yourself filtration systems. But i noticed I have a very large portion of my kitchen that seems to be perfectly cut out for my 150 :)
And right next to it is the hookups for the washer dryer system (that I dont use) But it has a foccet for hot/cold and a drain. Can I incorporate these to always have water flowing in and always having water flowing out? Is that not practical? that way I could hide all my drainage in the closet. I want to do it right the first time, go big or go home?? lol
