do jars "interact" with things outside the tank? i saw some 4-5"ers at the lfs and they were chasing my finger. just asking because i want one but am afraid i might be bored with 1 fish just pacing the tank like a robot.

they are not very aggressive towards human, but they may recognize your finger as worm or something edible, and want to take a bite, you may bleed.:D
i have experienced this a lot when i fed my aro or snakehead.

so i love aro's and especially my silver, just dont want to be dissapointed with the jar. think im going to buy one and a couple pleco's and see what happens.

my Jar follows me around the tank..when he knows its feeding time he lunges and tries to bite the food right out of my hand! ....i dont feel thats agressive behavior b/c he only lunges/bites at food, and not at me...get a Jar you won't be dissapointed ;)

My cat sleeps on top of my Jars tank. Every time she jumps up there, the Jar comes right to that corner of the tank an jus whips his tail back and forth, when she jumps up, he bolts toward the top of the tank as if to say " get the kitty."
really pretty hilarious.
