Do Juruense catfishes die easily?

I bought my Juruense catfish about 3 to 4 months ago and it is dead now. It never grew an inch and it was about 6 inches. It did eat thou. It was in a 110 gallon tank and there were no water quality issues. My other fishes in the same tank are doing okay.

I was wondering, do they die easily? I want to buy another one but if it dies liike the one I had, I think I will not buy another one.

the fact that it never grew in 4 months and it was only six inches tells you that something was seriously wrong with the fish or your parameters.

Mine's grown from 4.5" to 10" in the past six months. Eats a ton, and only has one eye

Like I said, there were no water quality problems. Maybe I bought a sick fish in the first place.

Parasites or genetic issues are almost impossible to know ahead of time and it can be weeks.. months... or years for them to show up... it's always a risk when we buy a fish.

I suggest you get another Juruense and do the same thing, I bet it will grow like a weed. Your guy was just probably sick somehow...

their normally hardy fish, there wouldve been something wrong with your fish before you bought it for sure!
