Well ive been informed that my lote 3
Inch flowerhorn is indeed a kamfa. I i didnt know how to feel about this because while adult kamfas ive
Seen have BEAUTIFUL coloration an markings, they also seem to have some really big nuchal humps or "koks". In flowerhorns, im not a fan of massive nuchal humps. I like the strains that look like trimacs in body shape and have small, hard koks rather than massive water koks. Is it true that kamfas get real big humps? Is there any way to minimize hump growth? He came from a petsmart and was only like 26 bucks if that makes a difference

Seeing also that it came from petsmart very high chance it won't have a kok also in keeping kok down keep water temp at 78 no higher

Okay cool thanks, so it doesnt really matter what strain it is, if its a petsmart flowerhorn it wont really get much kok no matter what type?

I only say that because petsmart flowerhorns are low grades

Yeah i gotcha, i know pretty much all FHs at big chain stores are low grade. If fed a normal varied quality diet (not those crazy flowerhorn specific pellets) and keep the temp at a reasonable temp and not super high, how long can i expect my FH to live? How long would a low grade kamfa usually live? Tank is a 90 gallon

I've herd in mostly all flowerhorns because of there hybridization year span depends from 3-6years

My last flowerhorn lasted 3 years. He was fed super "Asian" red enhancing food so maybe could of last longer. I hear that was a decent lifespan.
