I picked up my first pbass from a LFS yesterday kind of on impulse. I went not knowing what exactly I wanted but I was getting tired of just a 7" jar in my 6x2 tank. I know this combo might not work long term but I have plans on getting an 8'x2' tank so I would just move the cichla to the bigger tank and leave the jar in the existing one.
Anyway on to my question. I got two cichla for $40 each. Not sure if that's a super deal but it was convincing enough for me to get them. They are 9.5" and 10.5" and I'm not sure on their ID. I'm thinking some kind of mono hybrid but I could be wrong. Anyway They were both in a 55ga at the LFS with two oscars and their lips have baad blisters from ramming/rubbing on the glass. The kind that atf and baracudas often get. My question is now that they have more room will those eventually heal? My goal right now is to get them off eating live only and to heal those lips up. Has anybody ever had pbass with the same wound and had it go away eventually?
