I leave my MagFloat magnetic algae scraper attached to the glass in the corner of the tank. Could this interrupt the lateral line or electrical impulse stimulation that a lot of fish use? I have some fish that use electrical fields as much or more than eye sight to hunt and navigate (won't mention them so that I don't get put in a species forum). You think it bothers them? I haven't seen any evidence that it does, but I am curious?

My GG tries to attack mine every day...but hes grumpy...other than that nooo.

Nah they don't bug mine at all, it freaks them out when I am cleaning, and they think its chasing them.

Wow it could be possible since a magnet has an electrical field around it. I would contact the company that makes sells those magnets just to be sure.

I am only talking about the magnetic field issue. Some fish hunt by sensing the weak electrical field that their prey generates. I am curious if the magnet in my magfloat affects the predator in this situation.

My fish hate them and are quite scared when I am using it. However, I think that its more from the strange object moving around. I wouldn't leave the magnet in the tank anyways so the algae spores it collects on the scraper side can dry out and be killed.

It bothers the hell out of my carpinte and rafael cat....
