+1 for root tabs, but also if I'm not mistaken that looks like brown diatom algae. How new is your tank? Diatoms will usually go away with time, also bushynose plecos will clean up diatoms super fast!I agree, add root tabs, swords are heavy root feeders.
My tank has been up for a while I hade a nitrite spike because cleaned my filter on the same day as a 50% water change and accidentally made it cycle again+1 for root tabs, but also if I'm not mistaken that looks like brown diatom algae. If ya don't mind me asking, how do you clean your filter? Do you use tap water or tank water for cleaning? My tank has been up for a while I hade a nitrite spike because cleaned my filter on the same day as a 50% water change and accidentally made it cycle againI’ll never make that mistake again ?

Yeah that's what I was basically getting at lol. Ik I've made the mistake of over cleaning my filters in the past plenty of times. Eventually learned my mistake and got far better results afterwards.Idk if you’re asking or telling haha but it’s my understanding you siphon some water from your tank into a bucket or container and squeeze the sponge a few times and discard the water. The big no no is using tap water to soak or rinse. I’ve seen some people say they just rinse the sponge into the tank but I’m pretty sure that defeats the purpose of cleaning it in the first place ?
