I have a native tank with creek chubs in my room and it has a bit of an odor. Do all native fish smell worse than others? I want to put another native tank in the house but my parents are hesitant because of this. Does anybody know if this is true??

What do u mean by the water

What is meant by "must be the water" is...if you lived in a swimming pool...ate all your food in the pool...and went to the bathroom in the same pool...how stinky do you think that the water would get eventually??

Basically nothing was said regarding the aquariums water chemistry, the aquariums maintenance, the filtration system, or how much (or what) the fish are being fed.

So you could have stinky fish, stinky water (due to things mentioned above)...or both.

When I have Collected fish in the past they seem to have more of a fishy smell when they first come from the wild good filtration and water changes shouldn't b any worse than any Outher fish

Yeah, they will be fine in a 90g. Cyprinids like Chubs, Carp, and Goldfish, tend to have a large bioload.
