Do NTTs need hiding spots in a 240G?

Hello fellow MFKers,

I have a 240G (72x32x24) with two motoro rays (4" in diameter) and a black arowana. I currently have two 3" NTTs in quarantine and would like to add them to the large tank.

The tank itself only has black sand at substrate... do NTTs need hiding spots? I don't want to add it if its not neccissary because I do not want to take area away from the rays.

Based on my experience I would say yes. Otherwise they will hide behind plumbing and at the corners. Once your dats are becoming comfortable (might take months) with the new surroundings they will come out. GL
