Ive heard that males will reabsorb the fat and the hump will go away is that true whats you guys experience with pbass humps lol wow that sounds really weird

Yes their koks will fluctuate in size from time to time and get brite red when engorged. I couldn't tell you exactly why, but a few factors do play into it. Large feedings, large water changes as well a suitable mate for them to strut their stuff for. They seem to shrink after spawn from what I've observed.
They do recede as stated. I notice if there’s multiple males together or spawning is going down the koks tend to stay longer and get larger. Personally I try to get mostly girls because I’m not a fan of them
