Hi,
I have a peacock eel (which I am starting to become quite fond of). He is alone in his tank with out others of his kind. He seems lonely as the other fish all have at least one other of their kind.
I have read online that they like each others company, however my LFS said they are territorial and will be aggressive with their kind.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

your LFS is a little confused the larger spiney eels are the ones that sometimes show aggression when adults they belong to the sub-family Mastacembelus and include the fire eel and the tire track eel. The smaller spiney eels in the sub-family Macrognathus tend to enjoy each other and this is the sub-family the peacock eels belong to. So I would get 2 or 3 more peacocks or even others in the same sub-family
