My 8" peacock is on a fasting strike again. Has been 4 days. He stopped eating his feeders. I put 2 in he killed one a few hours after. The other is a little beat up. he just lost interest in them or pellets. behavior is normal, just not eating. Water is good. weekly water changes, PH 7.0. water temp is 82. Plenty of aeration. He did this a while back also. Does this happen normally? or is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Interested to know myself, I find too that sometimes my pbass' appetite isn't always as ferocious as it has been. Happens every once in a while, could be I just feed too much and they're not hungry 24 hours later as I feed around the same time, everyday, once a day unfortunately due to my schedule.

yes they do occasionally fast.
but not like wolf fish which can fast for days or weeks.
pbass fast for maybe a day or two.
but when small they rarely fast.
of course...bad water or unhealthy fish will fast longer.

Thanks for the reply. he still seems fine, but not eating. he will spit out food. Active and swimming normally. Water quality if fine. On day 6 now.
