Do Red Belly Pacu..

Hey Ppl.. I've got couple of red belly pacu at around 10" or so now.. haven't really measured them but they should be around that size.. now to the question.. do red belly pacu lose the red color as they mature or do they retain it always?? please let me know.. cheers..

all the red belly pacu that Ive seen that were bigger seem to lose the red and turn like a dark gray I hope you have a huge tank

My big guys don't have any red anymore. It slowly fades.

thanks guys.. ya right now they are in a 8' L X 1.5' W X 1.5' H pond.. will be moving em to a 14'X10'X4' soon.. construction should begin in a month.. cheers..

My pacu have no red. Here's a pic of one of them.

Most of the pacu that I have kept lost their red after 12" or so.. I did have one that was 16" with red still showing. Here's a pic...
