Do red tiger motas have problem heal torn tail fins?

Do they heal and grow back?

I've heard they grow back split fins instead. Is this true? Anyone has RT motas with torn fins and healed back completely?

I have one with torn tail fins now so i guess we will see.It,s the first torn fin He has had.Thought he was too mean to get any,still can't figure who did it?anyways I'm sure they are the same as any other fish,If it's soft ray damage it will heal fine if it's hard ray damage probably not

i dont think it's a fish species specific issue as opposed to the extent of the tear. i've yet to actually keep motas, but if the injury tears out the fin piece (for lack of a better word) from the roots i think the damage is permanent.

Mine has had his fins ripped and they grew back just feed them well and keep the water clean is all just like pretty much everything else we say

This is way off the topic and sorry for the hijack but that tattoo is sick fishluvr12 Ive been wanting to get a fish tattoo but I have so many favorites one being the Red Terror! BTW the fins will grow back..just give it time and clean water along with a good diet.
