Oscar, Blood Parrot, EBJD.

I feed small amounts of quality Spirulina from my LFS (its not a commercial brand, I don't know the name of the wholesaler) 3x per day, and mealworms or a mix of krill and brine every other day for a 4th meal.

Are the above listed foods a complete diet for these guys, or do they need anything more? Specifically veggie's like cucumber/zucchini/carrot/peas.

Thank You

EBJD i wouldn't feed it mealworms it could cause a problem.

Are EBJD's different than other SA/CA varieties concerning high protein type foods like mealworm and shrimp? or is it specifically the mealworm that is the problem?

They are more fragile when they're less than 5 inches because they are prone to parasites. For that reason I would stick to feeding them flakes or pellets and avoid live food. I fed both mine EBJD Spirulina pellets and flakes and as a treat blood worms.

+1 EBJD are very fragile. A lot don't make it past 3" Stick to a quality pellet like hikari or NLS
