Hi, my Flowerhorns have a row of black "flowers" on their sides. I notice some of them have fallen off from ornaments or others biting them off. Do these grow back the same color? Or, will there colors change?

Or, will they be permanently scarred, meaning the black flowers will never come back the same?

Thanks.

Really all depends on the severity of the wound. Some wounds will scare the fish for life and others will heal up fine. You can add salt to help the healing process so he has the best fighting chance.
Ive known breeders to remove small black markings on FH with razor blades which would be considered a "blemish". They pick the unattractive scales off the fish and the fish heals without the black "blemishes".
So my answer is, no, the black probably wont come back, but again, it all depends on the severity of the injury.
