I had to shift some stuff around my fishroom today....Part of the move was placing the 100g to another wall...SO I thought and thought, and finally siphoned it dry to make it light...Trust me, I was against it, but after much discussion with my brother, we moved it...I placed the shoal in a 54 gallon rubbermaid tub for 10 minutes....After the whole move, all their eyes suddenly became foggy white and some part of the skin seem to be scratched up bad...WTF....I managed to get about 40g of the old water back in the tank, the rest was unconditioned cold water...When it was almost full, I turned on hot water and they all bundled next to it....I also ran out of slime protector/water conditioner:nilly:....

Do scratched eyes heal???

they should just add some melafix!

thats what i did for my jag

this what he used to look like

and this is him now

still need to heal up a little but there clear.

i would also add some salt and do plenty of water changes, just give them some time...

I just had to deal with this issue myself. I had a tinfoil barb get bit in the eye by my spotted gar. I added melafix and some aquarium salt, and in about a week, you could never tell it ever happened.

So long as the eye is not hanging out of the socket then yes after a week or so it will be back to normal! P's heal them selves very well,
Melafix and or salt will both help!

 THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

I woke up today finding no signs of cloudy eye...As a precaution though, I purchased a bottle of Medafix and Aloe Vera stress coat water conditioner...I siphoned the water halfway and started treatment at tank half full, this way I budget the use of medication...
Believe me, I'm not trying anything stupid anymore...
