Do severums reach 12 inches?

12" is definitely possible for big males. I just got rid of a male gold last week that was 10 - 11". The super red that I kept is probably around that size, too. It just took them a while to get there. My red severum is almost 3, and was only about 6" or so by the time he was a year old.

^ agreed with Ryan.

Hopefully fallin49er has a picture of his old green male. I saw that fish in person many times and it was right at 12" TL if memory serves correct.

I think the Average is 7-8" they can get bigger. Mine is a year and some months he is 7.5" I got him when he was 1.5" I have been watching clips of wild severum they look like they are 8" the ones I saw at a huge public aquarium display I mean Huge the ones in San Fran. The had severums that were no bigger then my 8" guy.

BUt I have a Red severum that is a runt or stunted he is almost a year and only 5" . He was always the little fish with the big guys so maybe thats why he never grew much.

Its just like with People some men get to be 7 feet but the average is 5.7 - 6 feet.
