I have an african set up with java ferns and anubias, about 25 total in a 65 gal. Do you think they contribute to the water quality with any significance?, ie sucking up C02, nitrate reduction, 02 production, etc.

Thanks

any plants will help. I have only floating plants in my 120 gal. but it's enough to keep my nitrates under 5ppm and I have very little algae. this does'nt mean you can hang a lot of light for 15 hours. fast growing plants do a better job as they suck up the nutrients at a faster rate.
