I thought I read somewhere that they carry disease. If so, Is it something that is noticeable? Example-K-9's that have rabies foam from the mouth...
Does it effect the water (if they carry disease)?

never heard that before.....What type of disease have you heard they could be carring. You mean like genetically? Kinda like the saliva of Monitor lizards type thing with that bacteria?

Don't remember, but I do remember reading something about their skin (I think)?

well when dealing with anything "wild caught" there's a potential for parasites and other unknownn disease. Its always recommended that you quarantine them in their own tank and use some sort of parasite treating med. but I've never personally heard of SH carrying a rabies type of disease.

Snakehead rhabdovirus (SHRV) strikes its namesake fish family, members of which are farmed in parts of Southeast Asia. It can also kills zebra danios(so i was told??). I think the fish generally die from internal bleeding.
