do snowflake eels need brackish water

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
snow flake eels are marine animals

No, they are only in fresh/brackish water in the early stages of their life. They need salt to do well.

If a local fish store told you otherwise, it's because they either don't know or are just trying to sell you a fish.

I kept mine in brackish for quite a few years, ended up getting injury followed by infection and died from that...but the salinity was closer to SW than FW

Yes, brackish and, ultimately, SALTWATER. No such thing as a [truly] "freshwater moray eel."
