Absolutely, rays will often surf in the currents from filters and powerheads.

100% yes!! they are designed to live in fast flowing water.

Look at the koralia magnums and jets like that, they are quieter than power heads, produce tons more water movement and cost lots less to run. They are a bit more to buy though.
