Just picked up these 2 females yesterday, hoping my male will pair up with 1 of them, but am already second guessing my selection the more I think about it... 1, do they look like pure jags to you guys? And 2, what's up with the shapes of their belly and head? They're only about 7" and have noticed white stringy poop already... what do you guys think? Normal, parasites, deformed? Was an impulse buy because I've been looking for some decent sized females but may have to bring these ones back if something is wrong here.

yeah, im not a jag person though the heads a bit weird, but what the heck ! weird is unique to me. lol nice pick up.

Yeah, didn't really notice the "unique" quality in these 2 until I put them in my tank and watched them more... If this looks normal to some people maybe they'll get a pass, otherwise they may have to go and my search for a quality female jag may have to continue. Anyone else have an opinion on the shape of these females?

The up turned head is odd. The stringy poop is most likely parasites. I personally haven't seen a female with a up turned snout like that.

My lfs has got a female in stock with similar shaped nose she's about 8/9"

Looks like a Rainbow fish........ That head does look weird. I hate stringy poop. I just lost an 4 inch Electric blue to it. Parasites!!!!!!!! I would take them back and tell the LFS guy they are sick.

Deformed. Female jags body shapes shouldn't differ too much from males aside from being slightly rounder with shorter and more rounded fins. Their heads are deformed like a lot of inbred ebjds with a beak face. I would return them.
