anyone knoe if pygmy snapper go in salt? or are they all fresh? i saw that thread about them and they look really cool, anyone got any?

The pygmy snapper, according to fishbase, can be kept in fresh and brackish water. But, since there isn't even a picture of these fish on the 'net, odds are this species will be a real challenge to find. A challenge that I'm hoping one of our sponsors will strive to tackle for us.

The only pic I found was this painting,
did you notice that this is a juvenile and that adults are undescribed, I am wondering if the adults are a known salt water fish that goes through a color or form change and no one has connected the two.

I'm not for sure what a pygmy snapper is, I've only had them available to me a few times. When I have ordered them in, I have recieved more than one specie of fish.

The last ones I got looked like tiny mangrove snappers. THey came in in fresh water. I kept one of them and it is now about 8-10" long in full salt water.

The fishbase listing is for Lutjanus maxweberii and it is from New Guinea, here is the pic, I for got to attatch it last time.
