do water changes stimulate cichlids appetites?

I have not found water changes to stimulate appetite. Often, in my experience, large water changes with cool water can induce spawning.
Only thing that I have found to stimulate appetite is to fast the fish for a while. If they are healthy, they will eventually get hungry.

For sure if you increase the water temp then it will more aggressive and more active = eat more 
Also my jag won't get excite over pellets, it will eat but at minimal. Its become aggressive and over excited when it saw me hold the bloodworm cup in front of the tank (trust me its smart fish
)
