So I have a 150 gallon aquarium and I just recently bought a sump that was meant for a 400 gallon aquarium and pumping the water back up with a CQP submersible pond pump I belive it shoots out 2,400 gallons an hour if i remember correctly and I have a emperor 400 hang on back filter and a Marineland c-360 canister filter

The inhabitants are
1 Senegal birchir
1 ropefish
1 bala shark
1 indo datnoid
1 red belly pacu
1 African knife fish
8 filament barbs

Also I've been wondering what is the growth rate of bala sharks cause i want to get like 2 or 4 more but I'm not sure how long it will take for them to reach decent size like the one I currently have

Can never over filtrate :) can over flow, yes; but I think you're good from the sounds of it.

No idea on the balas

Are you over filtrating? Yes.
Is this a problem? No.

If the flow rate in the tank isn't a problem for the fish then the only issue would maybe be that you're using more electricity than you need to. With that much turn over from the sump, you don't need the canister nor the hob.

Out of curiosity what is the size of the sump and what is inside of it ?

I'm not sure the measurements I'll measure it when I get home but it said 400 on the sticker and I'll take a picture of it when I get home so you can see what's inside it.

Bala's dont that fast, at least not mine, but they can reach 12". Mine grew from around 1.5" to 4 inches in about 6-7 months, you seem to have plenty of filtration, but want to be sure your Bala's have enough space when fully grown.
