do you aclimate if water temp is the same?

As long as you know the water conditions are the same between the tanks along with the temperiture then sure....skip that step. I never bother doing it when moving fish from one of my tanks to another. But I would never do it with a shipped fish or one picked up from a LFS...even if the temps are the same.
 
Usually yes, fish don't seem too happy when I pop em from tank to tank in a net so I at least do a quick transfer in the milk jug before I let them out. Try to keep my fish in the water as much as possible, I feel bad because it's almost analagous to someone grabbing you in a net and tossing you under water real fast, probably isn't pleasant lol.
 
Thats something to concider but on the other hand QUICKER is generally less stressful than prolonging the process IMHO.
 
Water parameters might take adjusting for the fish.

Example - Are both tanks at the same ph, ammonia, etc.?
