Thanks, jjohnwm jjohnwm ! If you could pm me to not disturb the thread, that would be nice! Since I am on probation, I can not PM. Can you pm me? Also, we were planning on getting a variety of things. So Livebearers along with Rosy reds would be nice!

People on probation can’t receive new pms unless it’s a mod or admin sending it, the only way you can get a pm besides from a admin or mod is if you already had a pm going with someone before. I found that out on my own.

I haven't bought rosy reds. Only flatheads and chubs, and then just for fishing.
I'm thinking those would be less attractive but equally nourishing.

I'll ask at the bait store, and the LFS and see what's up here.

So in this case “equally nourishing” is not a good thing.

Rosy red , next to goldfish, aren't the best feeders long term due to thiaminase poisoning.
Do you have any advice on the dalmatian mollies as a feeder fish?

Thank you Rocksor Rocksor .
I’d give you a like, but being on probation I cannot.

I was also feeding Guppies to the bigger cichlids. Mollys wiped out a lot of my Guppy population and I’m trying to build them back up. I think Felix likes the guppies because they are easier to catch.

Buttercup lives in the patio tank with 100 Guppies and he is keeping fat. He gets his exercise by chasing the pleco away.

I got Buttercup two years ago when it was almost 5 inches And now he is well over seven. He has had a very healthy diet & also fathered a brood of nice cichlids . The Pleco is 14 inches and can hold his own.
