Do you ever answer questions about fish on Yahoo Answers?

I do occasionally to try to help people out... some people on that site post questions that are beyond stupid, and the answers they get are even stupider.

Ask a question about a betta, you'll get at least one answer saying "Bettas live in puddles! they need small dirty tanks! And they will kill anything you put with them!" And I see people telling other people all the time that a goldfish or two would go great in the question asker's 5 gallon. :screwy:

It's a great site for me to go on when i'm in a good mood, it immediately makes me mad...
 
Hell no!

I've tried and they all say this answer is dumb because blah blah. I'm answering questions like what are nitrates and how big does an Oscar get. People will say that poster or this poster is dumb they only get 10 inches or they will do fine in a 29 gallon.Stupid.

Now If I have a question I always go there and check and see if someone has asked it before, it helps ALOT in that cirumstance.

lmao same situation for me I gave up because so many people were rude and abrasive and downright stupid in picking my answers apart.
 
^ my thoughts exactly? i mean you have access to a site with many dedicated members and an abundance of knowledge, so why goto a place like Yahoo Answers for questions about fish, when everything you could possibly need to know is already here...
 
i agree...if you try to give a "professional" answer,stupid people will criticize you and will make you as if you are the one whose stupid.haha!....besides,most of the pips there are the "wimp" types..
 
I don't ask questions on Yahoo! Answers... but when I'm bored I answer them. When I was a total fish n00b a few years ago I used it. Looking at the old questions I asked, I'm surprised I didn't kill my first fish with the answers I got.
 
i've learnt that on the internet and especially online forums/sites theres always a few "keyboard gangsters" who claim to know every thing when infact they don't... which is why i'll try once to help politely correct them, and if they don't get the msg i don't bother... unless its an entertaining thread...
