Do you ever clean dead spots in your tank?

Especially those with intricate aquascaping. Just wondering.
 
Yes. Every water change I lift wood vacuum underneath and replace. I got over the aquascaping being exact along time ago. Sometimes I go as far as to flip the tank.... Place wood randomly around... I find it looks more natural if you don't get to anal about the placement of things. Nature is random so tanks should be somewhat random as well.
 
I do around a 40% water change every week.

I usually clean all the decorations and the dead spots every 2 weeks.
 
both of my tanks get a water change weekly. sometimes biweekly because i keep a lot of plecos and a puffer that do nothing but eat and poop.

i take everything out of the puffer's tank once a month to get the "dead spots" but i typically dont ever move anything in my planted tank.
