Hi.
Yesterday I picked up a female hump head Flower Horn of about 4.5 inches with the Idea her to share tank with my 5.5" Green Texas...
This:
Of course that I wouldn't toss FH just like that in the tank with that aggy Texas -Im not stupid- so I put a tank spliter and now they both are in their own share of the tank.
Just at soon as Texas saw the FH he started to buff as a peacock and some stripes appeared in the last third of it's body...Do you think it was because he felt FH was a female???, it looked like some mating reaction I believe.....
What I have in mind is to leave that spliter one, two, three months or as long as it takes for them to get used to see each other and eventually remove the spliter, at the same time I'll throw one or two handfulls of barbs and silver dollars for spreading any possible agression and I will rearrange the setup to brake territories and include some stuff to create some caves for them to hide.
What's your opinion lads? What do you guys think are my chances for this cohabitation work out well???.
Cheers.
