What's your story? Tell us why you do or do not hand feed. Who's gotten bit? Who's still tempting fate? Lets hear what your monsters did to you!

My story isn't a bloody one, yet that is. I got bitten by my aro yesterday. Thank God he's still only about 9 inches. He had the entire tip of my finger in his mouth down to the first knuckle. He managed to leap out of the water and grab hold for a moment. I've always been careful with him, but he's extremely aggressive if he thinks there is food around. I hand feed a lot of my guys, but this is the first bite to make me reconsider hand feeding for this little monster. It scared me this time, but next time when he's two feet I might not be so lucky. Chop sticks anyone?

I love handfeeding the monster ca/sa tank at work. Its like a 200 gallon lagoon stocked with giant cichlids. I like to hold the food above the tank and make the fish jump for it.

I don't hand feed me Barras yet, but I'm getting closer to that, they just sorta investigate the food in my hand at the moment.

I don't hand-feed. I began my fish keeping with piranha, obviously not a hand feeder. But even keeping other fish I wouldn't hand feed them because I don't want them tame. No offense to those who do, its just a preference. I even try to put their food in different places so my bichir ( my current keep, soon to be multiple) has to search it out. I prefer to keep my fish's eating habits as natural as possible even though they're in an aquarium for the same reason I try to make biotope tanks, because I think it makes them more interesting to watch.

I hand feed my Red Tail every time. I also pet him... He is a nice boy except for eating my gar.

Poor Gar! Those guys are awesome. But, yeah. Handfeeding the big cats is so funny. I also love feeding my eels their earthworms. Norbert, my biggest fire eel has gotten so spoiled he doesn't like to eat anything off the gravel.

I still hand feed my aro he's about 18 inches, and my tsn thats about 12 inches, i've had both of them grab me by accident but i don't think that either one of them can cause any real damage. It's not like i have GATF or saber tooth tetras, i'm trying to get my 2 pbass to take from my hand but they are only 6 and 7 inches long.

I used to hand feed my RTC and Gulper, but I don't have them anymore. My current stock don't do the hand feeding thing, but I have 2 fish that will eat from the tongs.
